Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Runcorn plus flexible hybrid working from home. Remote working one to two days per week, up to 1 hour 15 minutes commuting distance to Frodsham site.

£60,000 – £70,000 DOE

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will take technical ownership of embedded software development across the business. Acting as the software authority, you will define architecture, set development standards, and ensure software quality, documentation, and regulatory compliance meet medical‑grade expectations.

You will work closely with hardware, systems, verification, and regulatory teams, playing a central role in delivering products for hospitals, critical care wards, and frontline clinical environments. This key role directly influences product performance and patient outcomes.

• Experienced embedded engineers without prior regulated experience, who demonstrate the mindset, rigour, and drive required for medical‑grade development.
• Engineers from safety‑critical industries with transferable skills who are motivated to transition into medical technology.
• Medical device or regulated industry specialists with experience in ISO 13485, IEC 62304, aerospace, automotive safety or similar.
