About the roleGiven our rapid growth, it is time to expand our front-end development team. The primary focus of this role will be to elevate our user experience by crafting elegant, responsive, and performant interfaces, collaborating closely with our back-end developers, product and design teams to bring new features and ideas to life. The ultimate objective is to ensure our digital products are not only visually compelling but also intuitive, reliable, and scalable as we continue to grow.

As a frontend software engineer , you will:
- Build responsive UIs:
Develop reusable components and pages with Next.js and modern frontend tooling. - Integrate APIs:
Connect securely with Django microservices (REST), handle async data, and manage state. - Optimise performance:
Improve page speed, bundle size, rendering efficiency, and Core Web Vitals. - Test thoroughly:
Write unit, integration, and E2E tests to ensure reliability of critical user journeys. - Maintain design consistency:
Adhere to and extend a shared design system. - Contribute to Production Support:
Help troubleshoot and resolve production incidents. - Collaborate:
Work cross-functionally with our product, frontend, devops, and machine learning teams.
The successful applicant will have:
- Accumulated substantial breadth and depth of frontend software development through a relevant engineering degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- 6+ years of hands‑on commercial frontend/web, React or next.
JS development experience. - A solid foundation of algorithms, data structures, and good software architecture design principles.
- Substantial expertise of JavaScript and Type Script.
- A reasonable understanding of all applicable software engineering processes.
- Banking or Fin Tech experience, ideally. This is not essential but would be a distinct advantage.
