Senior Export & Import Operator - Specialist​/Value Logistics

The Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist logistics business operating within the high-value and fine art sector
. The company manages complex international movements for private clients, galleries, institutions and exhibitions, and is known for its quality-driven, detail-focused approach.

They are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Export & Import Operator to join their shipping team and take responsibility for managing international shipments from start to finish.

This role suits someone who enjoys owning shipments, working closely with clients, and operating in a professional, specialist environment rather than high-volume freight forwarding.

• Managing end-to-end export and import shipments, including specialist and exhibition movements
• Preparing and overseeing export and import documentation across air, sea and road freight
• Ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and internal procedures
• Liaising with clients, overseas agents, and internal transport, packing and storage teams
• Coordinating collections, deliveries and packing arrangements
• Preparing quotations and ensuring shipments are invoiced accurately and on time
• Keeping clients informed at every stage of the shipment process
• Maintaining accurate internal shipping and import records
• Supporting operational meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
• Handling high-value and sensitive cargo with discretion and professionalism

• Proven experience in international shipping / import & export operations
• Strong working knowledge of customs procedures and HMRC compliance
• Experience across airfreight, sea freight and road transport
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
