Applicants should have full GMC Registration and a License to Practice and have worked at F2 level or equivalent. Experience of working in Orthopaedics is desirable.
Due to the imminent requirement to fill this post, the successful candidate must hold full registration with the GMC and have existing right to live and work in the UK, at the time of application.
Candidates who are not GMC registered or do not hold existing right to live and work in the UK, at the time of application will not progress through shortlisting stage.
Main duties of the jobWe are looking to recruit an enthusiastic doctor to work at F2/CT1/2 level in our Orthopaedic Department at Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals.
The post holder will support the Consultant of the week team in their duties and contribute to the running of clinics, emergency and elective theatres and wards.
The post holder will also participate in a 1:8 on call rota.

Acute Care

Providing primary care services at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre situated in St Helens Hospital.
Community Services
Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

Person Specification Knowledge and Experience- Has worked at F2 level or equivalent.
- Experience of working in Orthopaedics and Care of the Elderly.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications
- Applicants must hold full registration with the GMC at the time of application
- BLS/ ILS
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Competent in basic computing skills
- ALS
- Evidence of multi-disciplinary team working, such as involved in Hospital at Night.
- Completed audit topic / Involvement in Research
