Ganotec typically self performs all major disciplines including, civil, structural steel erection, heavy mechanical equipment installation, process piping and electrical / instrumentation and controls. Location
Individuals selected for this position will be required to relocate or travel as assignments arise on various projects across Canada.
Responsibilities
Health and Safety - Participation in daily safety visits and meetings, working closely with workers to ensure that no one is injured and to plan the work to be done safely and eliminate risks at the sourceQuality control and assurance - Conduct site visits and inspections, identify non-conformities and conduct follow-upsTeamwork - Working closely with the team of workers, the project management team and engineeringPlanning - Participate in the planning, scheduling and execution of daily construction tasks for their area of operation. Communicate the plan effectively with team membersWork Supervision - Supervises the work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with applicable plans, specifications and standards. Identify site modifications to prepare drawings as constructedSubcontract management - Management of subcontracts and materials contracts, payment request analysis, change request management, contract requirements management and field supervisionPerformance monitoring - Participation in quantity progress reporting, analysis of progress and daily and weekly productivity. Ensure that the cost coding procedure is followedPurchasing - Participate in the process of purchasing materials and other needs, monitor shipping and coordinate deliveries, ensure delivery schedules are met and orders are accurateConstruction equipment managementMateriel Management – Inspection upon reception, storage management and needs coordinationDevelopment of work plans - Establishment of work methods, coordination between the various project stakeholdersQualifications
0-2 years of relevant industry experience preferredMaster's, Bachelor's or a college degree in electrical or mechanical engineeringThe candidate must have a strong work ethicMust be able to meet deadlines and devote the necessary time to the workStrong organization and time managementStrong interest in the construction industryEffective oral and written communication skillsCan effectively perform the assigned tasks in various work environments and on different terrains (including various weather conditions)Ability to work outside on a rotation schedule, or to relocateHave a valid driver's licenseFunctional knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered as an asset since mobility across provinces in Canada is required. Lessons can be provided as needed.
