Use hand tools and metal cleaning equipment as a Metal Fabrication Shop Helper working onsite in a dusty, hot, noisy shop. Support metal workers while handling detailed, physical tasks.
This Metal Fabrication Shop Helper position requires one to less than two years of experience. You will assist structural steel, platework, sheet metal, and machine operators. The work includes reading orders, sorting materials, and maintaining clean work areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate equipment removing welds, rust, scale, and materials
- Assist structural steel and sheet metal workers
- Sort metal sheets, parts, scrap, and materials
- Grind or chip excess metal with hand tools
- Clean machines and immediate work areas
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- One to less than two years of experience
- English language ability
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to handle up to 23 kilograms
