Guide organ and tissue donation across Sudbury as a Casual Registered Nurse Specialist with clinical assessment and donor management expertise. Travel throughout the surrounding region while supporting families and hospitals.
Trillium Gift of Life Network, part of Ontario Health, seeks a motivated Registered Nurse Specialist, Organ and Tissue Donation. You will guide donor identification, suitability assessment, death determination, family approach and consent, and medical donor management. The work supports organ yield for recipient transplantation.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct donor clinical assessments, evaluations, and medical management
- Establish collaborative family approach plans with health care providers
- Communicate donation updates with families and health care teams
- Request tests and procedures supporting medical suitability determinations
- Negotiate operating room resources for organ recovery surgery
- Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum three years critical care experience or equivalent
- Microsoft applications proficiency and excellent communication skills
- Valid G driver's license and reliable vehicle access
