The hospital provides diagnostic and emergency services along with clinical programs in acute medicine and surgery, addictions, mental health and childbirth/children’s services. With extensive specialist providers, it makes it the centre of community care for the residents of the Township of Uxbridge.

Position: Full Time Security Guard

Site: Uxbridge Cottage Hospital | 4 Campbell Dr, Uxbridge, ON

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: Fri, Sat and Sun )

Payrate: $19.19/hr

Working on assigned shifts, you will work 12‑hour shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance.

In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

• Proactive & reactive security patrols that engaged with public and staff.
• Response to incidents in a professional and timely order while maintaining safety of yourself and others.
• Ability to complete accurate and detailed report writing, as it is an essential link in communication.
• Investigate routine incidents.

• Proof of Immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella
• Proof of 2-step Tuberculosis (Mantoux) Skin Tests
• COVID Double Vaccination
• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• A Valid First Aid and CPR C Certification (from a WSIB approved provider)
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• Have a reliable vehicle going to and from the site
• Must be willing to be clean‑shaven for the N95 Mask fit certification
• Legally Authorized to Work in Canada
