Supplier Quality Consultant

£300 - £350 per day

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Consultant on an interim basis to support our engineering-led manufacturing client based in West Yorkshire. This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to someone who understands what good looks like within a supplier environment and can drive supplier performance to meet robust engineering and quality standards.
You will play a key role in assessing, developing, and strengthening their supplier base-particularly across the Yorkshire region-through regular on-site visits, audits, inspections, and performance reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and process reviews to ensure compliance with engineering and manufacturing quality standards.
Evaluate supplier capabilities and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Provide guidance and coaching to suppliers to enhance quality performance and product consistency.
Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and procurement teams to resolve supplier issues and support corrective actions.
Produce clear, structured reports outlining findings, recommendations, and follow-up activities.
Lead and support supplier development initiatives to strengthen supply chain resilience and reliability.
Travel extensively across Yorkshire to visit suppliers (regular weekly travel expected).

Key

Skills:

Strong background of experience gained within a quality engineering context with a particular focus on supplier evaluations.
Previous experience in supplier quality, supplier development, or supply chain quality roles.
Proven understanding of high-performing supplier systems and processes.
Hands-on, pragmatic approach with the ability to challenge and influence suppliers effectively.
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
Willingness to travel frequently across the region.
