Employment Type:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team and support the financial operations of our energy services company, specializing in HVAC and efficiency solutions. In this role, you’ll handle accounting tasks, financial reporting, budgeting, and ensure compliance with financial regulations to support our business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial standards, and company policies.
  • Process payroll, benefits, and expense reimbursements accurately.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in our accounting software system.
  • Assist with audits, reconciliations, and financial forecasting.
  • Collaborate with HR and operations teams to manage budgets and financial planning.
  • Stay informed about accounting trends, tax laws, and financial best practices.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all financial matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a service or technical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • CPA designation or in-progress CPA (an asset).
  • Strong communication skills to work with internal teams and external auditors.
