Position OverviewReporting to the Manager of Accounting, the Accounting Clerk will be primarily responsible for supporting all areas of the Finance department, with an initial focus on the Accounts Payable function.
Responsibilities- Match packing lists to supplier invoices; ensure accuracy and validity of all supplier invoices
- Communicate with vendors and internal personnel to gather required transaction details
- Reconcile vendor information as posted to inventory management system on a timely basis
- Prepare invoices for cheque payments and electronic funds transfers (EFT)
- Allocate expenses to accounts and cost centres by analysing invoice/expense reports
- Reconcile and record credit card transactions
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
- Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) function and become familiar with all AR activities to cover that role as required
- Other Finance‑related duties, including reconciliations and filing
- A diploma or degree in Accounting (preferred)
- 1+ years accounts payables experience, working in a high‑volume environment
- Ability to balance and prioritise multiple ongoing projects/tasks
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Experience with an ERP accounting software like SAP would be a definite asset
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
- Effective communication skills (English), both verbal and written
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines

Job Type: Full Time; on‑site in Ottawa, 6‑month contract with potential to become permanent
