Responsibilities
Assist with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functionsOversee the billing process, ensuring accuracy in client invoices and adherence to billing guidelinesOversee outstanding accounts and ensure timely follow-up on collections to facilitate prompt paymentMaintain, monitor and reconcile general ledger accountsPerform the month-end and quarter-end close process timely and accuratelySupport the preparation of budgets and forecasts, conduct monthly expense reviews, and implement a financially conservative approach to identify areas for cost control and strategic decision-makingIdentify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with the Engagement Partner, and develop resolutions to resolve issues and errorsContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processesCultivate strong working relationships with clients, collaborating with accounting and administrative teams to deliver exceptional client serviceUndertake any other related or ad hoc duties assigned by the Partner, with a view to delivering optimal service and addressing the client’s specific requirements.Skills and Experience
Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting or financeExperience in a professional services firm is an assetHold a college diploma or university degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administrationA background in political science through academic training or practical experience is a strong asset for this role.Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detailEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectivelyAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesExperience working with cloud accounting software such as QBOStrong computer literacy, including effective working skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
