As an Intermediate Electrical Estimator, you will work within the team to prepare for, assemble and submit tender prices for various projects of all sizes and scope. The Intermediate Electrical Estimator will be responsible to prepare, record and maintain pricing and assist the management team in the ongoing pursuit and acquisition of construction projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working within a team to perform quantity takeoffs including entry into a computerized estimating system.
  • Assemble all elements of an estimate including labour, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing.
  • Preparation, final review and submission documents to ensure all bid requirements are met.
  • Gather information for labour breakdowns for each area to assist with budget creation and management of project.
  • Attend and participate in site-visits, pre-bid meeting and post-bid meeting as required.
  • Participate in estimating turnover meetings with project team to assist planning and budget process.
  • Establish strong relationships with suppliers and sub trades to ensure sound and competitive pricing is received.
  • Collaborate and independently review project schematics to strategize on best approach for submissions.
  • Qualifications and

    Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ electrical estimating experience required.
  • 3 years’ demonstrated experience working on P3 and Design-Build projects.
  • Post-secondary diploma in electrical or construction technology, or other relevant technology field (CET or ENG considered an asset but not required) OR;
  • Experience in an electrical contracting trade OR;
    Industry certification including “Certified Quantity Surveyor” and/or “Certified Construction Estimator”
  • Working knowledge of Accubid required;
    Livecount and Bluebeam an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and multi-tasking in order to prioritize workload and stay on top of things as project demands increase.
  • Self-Disciplined to complete work and meet deadlines while managing your own time.
  • Self-motivated with strong willingness and ability to learn and be challenged.
  • Works effectively in team environment.
