Residential Construction Technologist

RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIST

$32-$37/hour

Based in Kemptville, LA Group is a full-service construction and land development firm. Since 2000 we have been dedicated to building in Ottawa and the Valley bringing our expertise in design, engineering, technology and construction to homeowners. Our award-winning work has helped establish us as a leader in renovations, historical restorations and land development.

We are currently seeking an experienced technologist to work in the Kemptville area with experience in all aspects of construction and interior/exterior renovations, both commercial and residential. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of all construction techniques used in all stages of residential construction and should also be knowledgeable in rough carpentry. You need to be organized and be able to work in a fast-paced environment while completing all facets of residential construction.

• Carpentry and framing
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Installation of doors/frames/hardware
• Framing (steel and wood)
• Drywall/mudding
• General construction
• Erect/deconstruct scaffolding
• Demolition
• Assist trades, suppliers or co-workers where and when required

• Meticulous attention to detail and precise‑to‑plan quality
• Ability to work well in a team and on your own
• Ability to read and interpret measurements in metric and imperial
• Experience working with hand tools
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Able to work in a safe manner while following company safety policies and regulations

• 3-5 years’ experience in residential home construction in Canada
• Training in WHMIS, Fall Protect, Workers Health & Safety Awareness will be considered an asset but LA Group will provide training if needed.
• Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation
