Applications are invited for a full-time academic surgical pathologist position, available immediately. We are seeking candidates with fellowship training and/or significant practice experience in gastrointestinal or gynecologic pathology. Additional expertise in another subspecialty is strongly encouraged.
The successful candidate will join a collegial team of 40 pathologists representing every subspecialty in anatomical pathology. Our division operates a fully subspecialized model, with an annual surgical pathology volume exceeding 120,000 cases and a high proportion of gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and breast specimens. Each pathologist participates in one or two additional subspecialties beyond their primary focus, fostering both depth and breadth of expertise.
Compensation and benefits are aligned with the Uniform Minimum Level of Compensation (UMLC) for Ontario pathologists, with an annual remuneration of approximately CAD $404,000.

Applicants must hold an MD degree, be eligible for licensure in Ontario, and possess Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification (or equivalent board certification) in Anatomical Pathology. Successful candidates will be appointed to the University of Ottawa with opportunities for teaching, collaborative research, and academic advancement. Rank will be based on experience in accordance with university guidelines.
As a pre-condition of employment, all new EORLA employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.

About The Division Of Diagnostic And Molecular PathologyThe Division of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology at The Ottawa Hospital processes more than 120,000 surgical pathology specimens, 20,000 cytology specimens, 100 hospital autopsies, and 1,100 forensic autopsies annually. The division is supported by a state-of-the-art molecular oncology laboratory with next-generation sequencing and other advanced platforms, enabling precision diagnostics and supporting clinical trials.
