Test Engineer

Description

The individual chosen for this position will be a member of an engineering team responsible for testing and validating firmware, hardware and software in a Laboratory. This individual will be executing RF test plans to prove system performance. The engineer will process data and prepare reports. She/He will troubleshoot and run setup validation tests to guarantee accuracy and repeatability. The successful candidate will be an effective problem solver and a proactive process owner.

• Verify new firmware and test solutions before releasing to production
• Improve process quality and reliability
• Perform statistical studies to validate process capability
• Establish optimum process and provide support to train test team
• Analyze test data and prepare report
• Support in standardizing test benches across multiple sites
• Validate setups by comparing setup performance to a standard
• Troubleshoot RF Test setups to keep the production flowing
• Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams to support engineering test projects
• Develop new techniques to streamline test process

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of experience in RF component testing
• 8+ years of experience in testing Firmware, automated test solutions
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments, statistical process control and analysis tools
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, both technical and interpersonal
• Pragmatic and flexible attitude with a result‑ and data‑driven can‑do mentality
• Experience in creating, documenting and maintaining work instructions
• Works autonomously, well‑organized, with a good attention to detail, while setting high standards in all aspects of the work
• Familiar with common programming languages such as Lab View and Python
• Proficient with test equipment including RF sources, pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, power meters, power supplies, and digital multimeters
• Knowledgeable in RF Test – testing includes s‑parameters, noise figure, power, pulsed power, TOI, DEVM and harmonics
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

The typical base pay range for this role is currently CAD $101,700 -$173,800. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
