About the role:
The Test Technologist is a critical member to the manufacturing team. The Test Technologist will perform a variety of tasks such as testing, troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical seismic sensors and related products.
A day in the life:
Programming & Testing
Programming of devices and assemblies
Functional test of final assemblies, sub-assemblies and circuit cards (digital, analog and RF) using defined test software, fixtures and equipment
Setup and run thermal testing of assemblies, debug failing products
Troubleshoot and debug, down to component level
Read and understand schematics, layout files, test procedures and other technical documents
Perform RF, Digital, Analog electronics testing
Functional testing of circuit cards
Troubleshoot and debug failing cards
Identifying efficiencies in test process
NPI and Product Development Support
Assist in the validation of production drawings, work instructions and BOMs
Support labor studies
Quality
Work closely with other team members to resolve material / assembly related issues
Maintain records and defect related data
Support and/or assist in yield investigations, identifying root cause.
What you bring to the team:
Experience and Education
Post-secondary education in electronics and/or instrumentation
5+ years in a manufacturing environment, preferably one that has embraced a Lean culture
5+ years in electronics and/or electro-mechanical manufacturing
IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 experience is considered and asset
ISO 9001 experience is considered and asset
Strong computer proficiency
Experience using defect / bug tracking software
