The successful candidate will provide expertise on design, planning, functional, preliminary, and detailed engineering for transportation infrastructure, and support construction services. Projects may involve complete streets, arterial roads, highways, pathways, cycling facilities, railways, rapid transit, and other transportation systems across municipal, provincial, federal, or private sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Stay informed of trends in transportation infrastructure and identify new consulting opportunities.
- Lead the management of planning and design projects or portions of projects.
- Assist in developing consulting team proposals and lead transportation‑design proposals.
- Prepare project planning, design schedules, and budgets.
- Conduct studies of existing infrastructure or site conditions.
- Lead the completion of transportation plans and studies.
- Evaluate alternative planning and engineering solutions to infrastructure challenges.
- Recommend preferred plans and designs and provide technical rationales.
- Prepare functional, preliminary, and detailed designs and construction cost estimates.
- Manage or coordinate construction implementation projects and contract administration.
- Provide engineering services during construction.
- Coordinate work of other disciplines and partner firms within the Parsons team environment.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders, leading or assisting in design process implementation.
- Monitor the financial performance of assignments.
- 4‑year degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (required).
- 8–15 years of related work experience (preferred).
- Broad technical and business background.
- Professional registration as an Engineer in Ontario (required).
- Management experience with proven ability to lead projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry practices, guidelines, and regulations.
- Familiarity with current project management approaches.
- Proficiency in English (oral and written).
