    Why You’ll Love This Role

    Lumentum is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Reliability Test Automation Co-Op student to join the Optical Communication Transport Engineering team in Ottawa, Ontario.

    The Opportunity

  • 8 month term from May 2026 - December 2026, potential to extend to 12 months.
  • Pay range: $24-35/hr

  • What You’ll Be Doing

    You will have the opportunity to contribute to a number of programs by:

    • Developing Test code to support Reliability Test Automation suites;

    • Updating and maintaining reliability lab database and software;

    • Gathering and documenting requirements through consultation with users and developers;

    • Applying best practices from design through testing;

    • Solving complex problems;

    • Analyzing and characterizing failures;

    • Applying your knowledge in the following areas: object-oriented programming, code reuse, designing for test and support, etc.;

    • Assist with execution of component qualification verification tests (, HAST);

    • Collect then analyze data and compare results with vendor submitted data. Prepare Reports

    What We’re Looking For

    Education Qualifications

    Required

    Education:

    3rd or 4th year student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering

    Desired Skills & Qualifications

    • Experience with database management such as Visual Studio 2017 or higher ( or C#), XML, and/or SQL;

    • Experience in automation;

    • Understanding of optical systems and optical instruments;

    • Organized and motivated individual with attention to detail;

    • Ability to operate effectively in highly technical and multi project environment;

    • Focused on completing assigned tasks in a timely manner;

    • Strong communication / teamwork skills to work with relevant departments within Lumentum.
