Position Summary
Thales Canada, Defence & Security is engaged in supporting the Canadian Army’s Land Command, Control, Communications & Computers (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (LC4
ISR) systems which enable critical decisions on a daily basis. Together with industry partners, Thales is building on the existing networks and applications to enhance digitized operations, support communications between joint and allied forces, and monitor and defend against the threats and evolving capabilities of potential adversaries.
Thales Canada is looking for people interested in directly contributing to the evolution of advanced digitized operations for the Canadian Army into the future, both in Canada and on overseas deployments. The LC4
ISR work is broadly divided into four areas, and this opportunity is with the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) group at our Ottawa office. We are looking for a systems engineer to lead and manage a team using agile methodologies. The system engineer will also be responsible to lead- test automation development for the STANAG 4586 (Standard Interfaces of UAV Control System (UCS) for NATO UAV Interoperability
Key Areas of Responsibility
A systems engineer should be comfortable in multidisciplinary and collaborative environments, performing duties such as:
Lead a team using a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Estimate and decompose system and subsystem work into manageable tasks
STANAG 4586 ED4 Test Automation:
Lead test automation development for the STANAG 4586 ED4 (Standard Interfaces of UAV Control System (UCS) for NATO UAV Interoperability). This includes creating the high level automation plan, selecting and reviewing the standard and implementation guide, and selecting the test development priority.
