Your impactJacobs is seeking an Intermediate Process Mechanical Designer to join our Water/Wastewater team in Ontario
, aligning either to our Toronto or Ottawa office. This role will support municipal water/wastewater treatment and vertical conveyance (i.e. pump station, reservoir, water tower) projects primarily in Ontario, with the growth opportunity to support major projects across Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings and 3D models for water and wastewater treatment facilities using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, or similar).
• Develop piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and mechanical details in accordance with project specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and other discipline designers to ensure design accuracy and coordination.
• Assist in preparing bills of materials, equipment lists, and design documentation.
• Support design reviews, clash detection, and quality checks.
• Adhere to Jacobs’ quality assurance and safety standards throughout all phases of design.
Here's what you'll need• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in process mechanical and/or piping design for water/wastewater projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools (Revit preferred).
• Knowledge of piping systems, pumps, valves, and mechanical infrastructure used in municipal treatment facilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
These will be considered as an asset:
• Experience with large-scale municipal projects.
• Familiarity with Canadian codes and standards for water/wastewater infrastructure.
• Previous involvement with treatment plant upgrade projects.
