Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Perform fundamental engineering calculations and conduct code reviews to determine system loads and requirements.
• Analyze and evaluate system types and propose design solutions tailored to the project’s needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to refine designs and align with the client’s project objectives.
• Conduct on-site surveys to assess building conditions, systems, and components.
• Design and draft various building systems, including sprinkler systems, plumbing, drainage, hydronic hot and chilled water systems, HVAC systems, and controls.
• Prepare and update project specifications.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to ensure design compliance, evaluate progress invoices, address contractor inquiries, and oversee equipment commissioning.

Must Haves:

• Licensed professional engineer with a minimum of three years of experience.
• Strong understanding of quality standards in engineering design and core engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Revit and BIM platforms with technical detailing expertise.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team while following direction effectively.
• Eligible for government security clearance.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Bilingual proficiency in English and French (written and spoken).
• Experience with complex, high-profile engineering projects.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy-efficient design principles.
