Responsibilities

- Advising Senior Managementonarangeofissuesaffectingtheorganization'sabilitytoachieve the business objectives
- Identifyingopportunitiesfor,assistingintheprioritizationof,andassignmentoforganizationalimprovement
- Developing and / or managing the implementation of an organizational improvement plan to identify,analyze,plan,track andcontrolorganizationalimprovementsonacontinuousbasis
- Makingrecommendationsandprovidingadviceforimprovementsandassistingindevelopingsolutionsandimplementingrecommendations
- Collectingandanalyzinginformationandpresentingfindingsoncomplexissues,carryingoutorcoordinatingresearchasrequiredandpreparingreports
- Definingandproducingbusinessrequirementdocument
- Coachingonbusiness
- Assisting stakeholders withunderstandingtheirstrategicgoals
- Analyzing stakeholder'sbusinessobjectivesandrecommendinganddevelopingsolutionstoaddresstheir business problem
- Implementing and evaluating cross-functional decisions that will enable an organization toachieve its objectives
- Assessingtheorganization'scapacity / capabilitytoundertakeandsuccessfullydeliveraninitiative orachange
- Defining,developingandimplementingbusinessstrategiesandplans
- Examining the link between the goalsof the organization and how the work is performed toachieve thoseobjectivesatstrategicandoperationallevels
- Processingproblemsintosolutionsornewopportunities / initiatives,identifyingandresearching best practices
- Performing Strengths,Weaknesses,Opportunities and Threats(SWOT) analysis
- Developing Mission and Vision statements
The Business Consultantmustperformthefollowingtasksifrequiredbythe Project Authority :
- Considerbestpracticesinothergovernmentdepartments;
- Ensureconsistencywith Government of Canadapolicyframeworksandinitiatives;
- Takeintoaccounttheimpactsoftransformativeactivitieshappeningwithin
DNDandthe
Governmentatlarge; - Engagerelevantpartiesasappropriateinthedevelopmentoffinalproducts;
- Identify optionsforbusinessmodelsandidentify oportunitiestostrengthen,reform,and realign duties tobuildstrength;
- Proposerealignmentofrolesandresponsibilitiessoastomeettheneedsoftransformationwhileachievingtargetingresourcereductions;
- Identifyriskstotheimplementationofproposals,together withriskmitigationstrategies;and
- Developimplementationstrategieswhererequired.
- Must clearly demonstrate that theproposedresourcehasbeenthe
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) foratleastthree(3) yearsin
The Government of Canadawithinthelastten (10) yearsanda
CIOinthepublicorprivatesectorwithinthepastfifteen(15) years - Must clearly demonstrate that the proposed resource has a minimum of ten(10) yearsofexperienceinthelastfifteen(15) years providing strategic advice and directionforfinancialorcorporatemanagementsystems to seniormanagementinthe
Public Sector. - Mustclearlydemonstratethattheproposed resource has three (3) years of experience in the business transformation of
SAP based financial systems withinthe lastten(10years) within the Government of Canada. - Must clearly demonstrate that the proposed resource has at least ten (10) years’experience within the last(15) years at theSenior
Managementlevelindevelopingabroadrange of processes and policies in an Information Management / Information Technology / Enterprise Transformation environment.
