Reporting to the Active Living Manager, the Active Living Aide assists in planning, organizing, and implementing programs for residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing resident programs in collaboration with the Active Living Manager & Executive Director.
  • Maintain department records, including assessments, evaluations, and participation charts.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, volunteers, and staff about events.
  • Attend in-service education to stay informed on elderly care trends.
  • Participate in team meetings to plan programs based on residents' interests.
  • Facilitate residents' scheduled outings.
  • Assess individual resident activity levels.
  • Prepare, execute, and evaluate daily activities.
  • Assist with meal services as needed.
  • Work with vulnerable adults, maintaining trust and integrity.
  • Uphold the organization's values, ethics, and morality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with seniors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Energetic and compassionate, with a passion for working with the elderly.
  • Valid provincial driver's license for resident transport.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.
