Position InformationTemporary position until approximately March 30, 2027.
Rotation/ShiftsDays and nights, including weekends, 12 hour shifts.
Basic Requirements- Current certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Three (3) months of recent Birthing Unit experience;
- Current BCLS and NRP certification as per the College of Nurses of Ontario standards;
- Theoretical knowledge of the care of obstetrical patients and newborns, and ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting;
- Demonstrates a sound knowledge of the nursing process;
- Demonstrates a desire and ability to participate in patient teaching;
- Demonstrates a professional and respectful attitude to patients, to the public and to colleagues;
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care team;
- Identifies a commitment to personal continuing education activities;
- Demonstrates understanding of and participation in the evaluation process;
- Demonstrates an understanding of the application and relevance of the continuous quality improvement activities;
- Demonstrates understanding of and willingness to facilitate clinical research activities into patient care;
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Baccalaureate of Nursing;
- CNA Perinatal Certification;
- Obstetrical Perioperative experience;
- Completion of or enrollment in Obstetrical High Risk Courses;
- RNAO membership;
- Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) membership;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
