DLS is seeking a skilled Senior Technology Architect to provide high-level expertise in supporting the development, operation, and sustainment of a distributed, virtualized private cloud infrastructure. This infrastructure supports modelling and simulation systems for collaborative, secure, and scalable use in complex environments, including deployments at remote or austere locations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep technical leadership in systems architecture, cloud services, and virtualization in multi-tenant environments, and will oversee integration work produced by a team of technical professionals.
The successful candidate must have be willing to operate as an Independent Contractor.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead architectural design, implementation, and operational support of a private on-premises cloud-based data centre infrastructure.
- Deliver solutions involving compute, storage, networking, and virtualization that align with system requirements.
- Guide and integrate the work of at least four additional technical resources.
- Ensure secure connectivity across remote systems and enclaves using cross-domain and secure data transfer technologies.
- Support the deployment and sustainment of modelling and simulation platforms and tools.
- Maintain version control and documentation libraries for all work delivered.
- Troubleshoot complex network and virtualization issues across multiple environments.
- Provide architectural leadership for additional deployments or variants of the infrastructure platform.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Oversee software development, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
- Prepare detailed documentation including system designs, manuals, schedules, and cost estimates.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, or equivalent field.
- CISSP or similar security certifications
- Must Hold Canadian Secret Cleance
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years within the last 15 years in:
- Requirements analysis in multi-tenant environments.
- System architecture for network, compute, and storage.
- Virtualization (design, installation, troubleshooting).
- Cloud service design and deployment (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
- Secure networking between remote systems.
- Cross-domain security implementations.
- Integration of modelling/simulation tools (e.g., XCITE, VBS, JSAF, MaK One, etc.).

- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
