We are seeking an experienced IP Resident Engineer to join our team in Ottawa, Canada. This role is critical in supporting advanced IP network design, deployment, and optimization for a leading telecommunications client. You will work on-site, collaborating closely with customer teams to ensure seamless network operations and strategic growth.

As an IP Resident Engineer, you will be embedded within the customer environment, providing expert-level support for Nokia IP/MPLS platforms. You will design and implement robust network architectures, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver optimization strategies to enhance performance and scalability. This position offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies, including Nokia 7750 SR, 7705, and 7250 platforms, and requires a proactive, consultative approach to ensure customer success.

You will also contribute to technical documentation, training, and lifecycle management, making this a highly impactful role within a dynamic, carrier-grade network environment.

• Design and develop IP network architectures and service solutions aligned with customer requirements.
• Create detailed implementation and migration plans for Nokia IP platforms.
• Configure and deploy Nokia 7750 SR, 7705, and 7250 routers and associated services.
• Perform rigorous testing, troubleshooting, and support during deployment phases.
• Audit and assess network performance, scalability, and security; recommend improvements.
• Develop network management and optimization strategies for long-term stability.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including Statements of Work (SOW).
• Deliver technical training and knowledge transfer to customer teams.
• Support customer readiness, acceptance, and migration activities, including maintenance windows.

• Must be based in Canada and available for full-time on-site work in Ottawa.
• 4–6 years of hands‑on experience with Nokia IP/MPLS platforms.
• Strong proficiency in IP protocols (routing, switching, MPLS, QoS, security).
• Expertise with Nokia 7750 SR, 7705, and 7250 router platforms.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and customer‑facing communication abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Nokia SRC certifications (NRS I, NRS II, or SRA) highly preferred.

• Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
• Familiarity with SDN and NFV technologies.
• Knowledge of IP network security best practices and firewall integration.
• Exposure to carrier‑grade network design and optimization strategies.
• Advanced troubleshooting using packet analysis tools (Wireshark, etc.).
