Position: Senior SAP ABAP PI/PO Consultant to develop ABAP proxies to facilitate middleware integration within a large-scale

Our valued public sector client is looking for Senior SAP ABAP PI/PO Consultant to develop ABAP proxies to facilitate middleware integration within a large-scale government SAP ECC6 environment
.

Background:

The organization is looking to manage the legacy environment until it is replaced and decommissioned by the resulting new information system. Therefore, it will need to maintain and enhance the existing SAP based system required for replacing legacy systems. The current environment is composed of the current SAP ERP 6.0 with a limited number of the new SAP S/4 HANA software modules.

Responsibilities:

ABAP Development

  • Design, build, and enhance custom SAP ABAP programs, reports, function modules, BAPIs, BADIs, enhancements, and forms.
  • Troubleshoot existing custom code and remediate defects, performance issues, or functional gaps.
  • Support data migration, data cleansing, and data-quality initiatives through ABAP tooling.

    • PI/PO Integration

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize integrations using SAP PI/PO (both synchronous and asynchronous scenarios).
  • Monitor PI/PO interfaces, resolve failed messages, and ensure reliable end-to-end data flow across systems.
  • Document integration mappings, configuration, and design decisions.

    • Technical Analysis & Issue Resolution

  • Investigate system defects, identify root causes, and propose long-term corrective solutions.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to clarify requirements and translate them into scalable technical designs.
  • Support regression testing, integration testing, and deployment activities.

    • Collaboration & Governance

  • Work within structured release cycles and follow established change-management processes.
  • Prepare high-quality technical documentation and adhere to development standards.
  • Coordinate with technical leads and architects to align build work with enterprise integration patterns.

    • Must Haves:

  • SAP ABAP - 8-10 years
  • PI/PO
  • Secret Clearance
