Position Summary

As a Data Analyst working within the Data Governance team, your main role will focus on documenting data assets, identifying data owners and stewards, and ensuring that data governance processes are structured and consistent across the organization.

You will play a key role in facilitating data governance by ensuring that data is clearly defined, accessible, and properly managed according to organizational policies and compliance requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Manage and enhance enterprise Data Assets, including developing comprehensive data definitions, data source documentation, and maintaining an organized and up-to-date data inventory across multiple systems.
  • Lead collaborative efforts with the enterprise to identify and onboard data owners and data stewards, providing guidance and training to ensure accuracy, security, and effective usage of key datasets within the program.
  • Ensure strict adherence to, and ongoing improvement of, data governance frameworks, proactively identifying gaps and implementing best practices to further strengthen data integrity.
  • Independently monitor and interpret data quality trends, conduct advanced analysis to detect systemic issues, and recommend and coordinate actionable solutions with stakeholders to enhance integrity and consistency across datasets.
  • Partner with a range of stakeholders—including business leaders, IT teams, and Data Governance colleagues—to align data governance needs with evolving program objectives and requirements.
  • Plan, facilitate, and lead meetings, workshops, and training sessions to gather detailed requirements, address governance challenges, and promote organizational understanding of data management practices.
  • Take an active role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance policies, standards, procedures, and tools to advance data security, regulatory compliance, and organizational data accessibility.
  • Generate, analyze, and present regular status reports on data ownership, stewardship, and governance issues, offering recommendations for ongoing improvements.
  • Mentor junior team members, supporting their development in data governance concepts and best practices
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years of related experience in data analysis, data governance, or a similar role.
  • University degree in statics, mathematics, computer science, data science, Business administration or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Possess strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in documenting Data assets, defining data flows, and creating data dictionaries or glossaries.

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between 91,737. CAD Annual.
