About the Opportunity
Our Public Sector client is seeking an Information Management and Platform Advisor to support the secure, standardized, and optimized management of enterprise Information Management platforms. This role is integral to advancing departmental
digital transformation initiatives and ensuring that Information Management resources are secure, accessible, and consistently designed across internal and external environments.
The successful candidate will provide expert advisory and hands on support related to SharePoint Online, Defence 365, and GCdocs, directly enabling enterprise IM priorities and supporting strategic objectives aligned with Government of Canada digital and service policies.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Manage and review security and access rights, including L1 admin rightsConfigure permissions, groups, and role assignments in SharePoint Online and GCdocsApply a unified design template to externally facing and internal IM sitesEnsure published IM guidance and resources are easy to find and consistently maintainedInitial Assessment and Planning
Conduct a comprehensive review of existing IM platforms (SPO, D365, GCdocs) and their current configurationsIdentify gaps in security, access rights, design consistency, and content discoverabilityMap existing IM sites and resources, including internal and externally facing componentsAssess alignment with Defence Digitization Strategy and TBS digital service standardsDevelop a work plan outlining timelines, milestones, and resource requirementsOptions Analysis
Evaluate alternative approaches for securing and standardizing IM platformsCompare design frameworks and permission models across SPO, D365, and GCdocsAssess feasibility, scalability, and compliance of each option with DND and CAF policies and TBS directivesDocument pros and cons of each solution, including risks and mitigation strategiesRecommend preferred options for implementation based on strategic fit and operational impactStakeholder Engagement
Identify key stakeholders across the DND and CAF IM community, including site owners, administrators, and end usersFacilitate consultations to gather input on current pain points, needs, and expectationsPresent findings from initial assessment and options analysis to stakeholdersIncorporate stakeholder feedback into planning and design decisionsMaintain ongoing communication to ensure transparency and buy in throughout the project lifecycleStrategic Roadmap Development
Develop a phased implementation roadmap for securing and unifying IM platformsAlign the roadmap with Defence Digitization Strategy objectives and TBS Policy on Service and Digital requirementsDefine short, medium, and long term goals, including key deliverables and performance indicatorsInclude change management and training components to support adoptionEnsure the roadmap supports IM Forum priorities such as L1 admin rights, risk mitigation, and engagementSolutions Development
Configure permissions, groups, and role assignments in SharePoint Online and GCdocs based on approved modelsApply unified design templates across internal and external IM sitesDevelop and deploy tools or scripts to automate routine administrative tasksEnsure IM guidance and resources are published in a consistent, accessible formatTest and validate solutions to ensure functionality, security, and usabilityBriefings and Reporting
Prepare briefing materials summarizing project status, key findings, and strategic recommendationsPresent the roadmap, options analysis, and stakeholder feedback to senior leadershipHighlight alignment with Defence Digitization Strategy and TBS policy objectivesProvide risk assessments and mitigation strategies for executive decision makingOffer clear, actionable insights to support governance and resource allocationAbout YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
Certificate, diploma or degree in a relevant field from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experienceMinimum five years of experience within the last ten years conducting strategic IM analysis in a federal government contextMinimum three years of experience in business process analysis and or program designMinimum three years of experience using the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint Online and Power PlatformEnglish Essential with advanced oral, written, and comprehension proficiencyReliability Status requiredAbout the JobDuration: January 12, 2026 to December 11, 2026Location: Westend, Ottawa, OntarioWork Environment: OnsiteLROGOV
