Data Governance Specialist

Our health-sector client is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support enterprise-wide initiatives across metadata management, data quality, data ownership, and stewardship. This remote/ HYBRID role will work closely with business teams, governance leads, and external partners to strengthen governance capabilities and operationalize data governance practices across the organization.

• Updated metadata glossary and aligned definitions.
• Validated CDEs and documented data quality rules.
• Refined data ownership and stewardship framework, including roles and responsibilities.
• Business-approved documentation for metadata and data quality updates.
• Knowledge transfer and governance support materials.
• Training and awareness support.
• Adoption plan and related metrics.

• Strong expertise in data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality practices.
• Strong analytical and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or similar enterprise data cataloging tools.
• Experience operationalizing data governance within business units.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate business alignment on governance standards and definitions.
• Knowledge of data stewardship and ownership models.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
