Freelance Interpreter; English​/Italian

MCIS Language Solutions is seeking a Freelance Interpreter (English/Italian) to provide essential spoken interpretation services in various community settings.

The successful candidate will facilitate clear and accurate communication between English and Italian speakers, ensuring individuals with limited language proficiency have access to vital services.

• Provide accurate, clear, and professional interpretation between English and Italian in community settings.
• Demonstrate cultural awareness when working with diverse communities.
• Read and orally translate written materials, such as application forms, medical records, or legal documents, as needed.
• Support vulnerable populations by breaking down linguistic barriers in crucial interactions.
• Travel to assignment locations as required.
• Handle over-the-phone or video interpretation assignments.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while interpreting sensitive information.

• Fluency in English and Italian (both written and spoken) is required.
• Strong ability to read and interpret written documents accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and a commitment to service.
• Ability to travel to different locations as needed.
• Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

• MCIS provides a free online training module designed to prepare you for assignments.
• Experienced interpreters are welcome to apply.

MCIS Language Solutions offers a pay range of CA $20.00/hr - CA $25.00/hr, based on experience and assignment type.

This is a part-time, casual, freelance opportunity.
