Position Summary: We are seeking Junior BAS technicians to join our expanding Ottawa BAS team. The successful candidate will work with our project team and report directly to the BAS Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
Assist in delivering BAS solutions within the Construction/Operation Department.Support site commissioning, point-to-point verifications, troubleshooting, and startups of BAS, HVAC Equipment, and Lighting controls systems under the supervision of experienced BAS team members.Assist with project and service documentation.Learn and adhere to Ainsworth's Safe Work and H&S Policies.Show initiative in learning HVAC and DDC fundamentals, including Schneider Electric BAS products.Develop an understanding of HVAC and DDC fundamentals and BAS product portfolios such as Schneider Electric, Trane, Siemens, Automated Logic, or others using BACnet protocol.Complete Schneider Electric product-specific training before factory training.Demonstrate knowledge of BAS Networking and System Integration.Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience as a BAS technician.Valid Driver’s license and ability to be insured by Ainsworth.Pass security screening as required by Ainsworth's Government clients; bondability and reliability clearance are assets.Fluency in English;
French language skills are an asset.Ability to read construction plans, specifications, and product documentation.Graduate of a post-secondary technical or engineering program.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Visio or scripting languages.Physical ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and work at heights with fall arrest protection.Willingness to travel; travel expenses will be reimbursed.While we appreciate all applications, only candidates under consideration will be contacted.
