Motor vehicle transmission mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Transmission Technician with hands‑on experience in commercial transport truck systems. The position is based in Ottawa, ON (K1Y 3G9) and requires on‑site work in a garage environment.

  30 h per week (Full‑time)

• College, CEGEP, or other non‑university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year, or equivalent experience
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in automotive/tax reception

• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
• Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
• Discuss work with supervisor
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications
• Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Test and adjust units to specifications
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed
