Position Overview
We’re seeking a Nurse Practitioner (Bilingual required) to be a vital part of our multidisciplinary primary health care clinical team, delivering top‑nort care to Canadian Armed Forces members at our primary care medical clinic on base in Ottawa (Montfort Location). From providing essential primary care and occupational health services to tackling minor traumas and championing health promotion initiatives, your role will be as diverse as it is rewarding.

- Generous allotment of time for booked appointments
- A fully functional clinic with access to diagnostic and support services within the clinic or the local community
- Direct access to a robust Mental Health department including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and addictions counselors
- Regular weekday hours with no evening or weekend work (Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4 pm)
Ottawa, ON Mon – Fri 7:30 am – 4 pm
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive health assessments using sound clinical judgment, diagnostic and therapeutic skills.
- Practice autonomously and be solely accountable for his/her actions while practicing.
- Consult with physicians or other health care professionals when the client’s condition requires care beyond the scope of NP practice.
- Make appropriate medical employment limitation recommendations in accordance with the Surgeon General’s guidelines.
- Prescribe medications and order x‑rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests in accordance with the Standards of Practice for RNs in the Extended Class.
- Implement strategies to promote health and prevent illness with individuals, families or groups.
- Collaborate on the management of members with stable chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and asthma) through a predetermined referral process.
- Refer patients to other providers or programs according to the patient’s need.
- Licensed and in good standing within the province of Ontario.
- Fluent in both English and French (speaking and writing).
- One year of related experience post‑graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program.
- Experience with occupational injuries preferred.
- Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C (or equivalent).
Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability Level.
