PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Administer medications (IM, SC and IV) in home or specialty clinic settings.
- Support and monitor IV infusion treatments in the clinic and/or homecare setting.
- Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments; chart and report activities as directed by protocol.
- Provide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, product complaints in accordance with training and policies.
- Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling and other departments to meet established timelines.
- Perform administrative duties such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering and other duties as assigned.
- Participate regularly in team web-based meetings/training sessions to maintain professional practice standards.
- Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product specific programs.
- Required to travel within designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
- May be required to be on standby/on call to meet service needs.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Experience with IV therapy is an asset.
- Diploma/University degree in nursing or related field.
- Current registration with provincial licensing body; CPR certificate.
- Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting.
- ACLS, PALs, MS and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets.
- Effective organizational skills; attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work in a team and independent setting.
- Able to travel within a geographical boundary.
- Hold and maintain a valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver’s license and insurance coverage.
