Schedule: Casual (Dec. 16, Dec. 18, and Dec. 23)

Hourly Rate of Pay: $40.00 - $43.00

Carecor is looking for dedicated and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to support one of our client locations in Ottawa, Ontario. We are looking for someone that is flexible, compassionate, and skilled in acute care. Carecor operates as a staffing agency within accredited healthcare facilities, supporting professional growth from student to advanced nursing credentials.

Summary Of Position

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides safe, client-focused care under the direction of the Charge Nurse or RN, following CNO standards and facility protocols. Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, supporting patients and families, maintaining a clean and safe environment, ensuring accurate documentation, and collaborating with healthcare teams. The RPN demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, and reliability while working in a dynamic acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and follow established procedures.
  • Provide emotional support and communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Deliver care under supervision in compliance with professional standards.
  • Collaborate respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures and administer vaccines in clinic settings, ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
  • Ensure necessary supplies are available and maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Exchange accurate shift reports and report incidents or changes in patient condition.
  • Document care according to CNO and facility standards.
  • Maintain professional appearance and behavior; attend required training and meetings.
  • Adapt to changing patient needs, work effectively under pressure, and demonstrate reliability.
  • Collaborate with diverse healthcare professionals and exhibit flexibility and social sensitivity.
Job Qualifications

  • Registered Practical Nurse Diploma
  • Recent agency experience required - potential sign on bonus
  • Current Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) licensure in good standing with the College of Nurse of Ontario
  • Minimum of 300 hours of experience in a medical-surgical Long Term Care setting within the past two years
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate
  • Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV), tetanus, pertussis, polio, hepatitis B
  • Proof of negative TB skin test within the past one year or negative chest x-ray within…
