Quality Control Associate
Canadian Blood Services

This full‑time, regular role is part of the Quality Assurance team and will work in a hybrid environment (approximately 40% on‑site, located in Brampton, ON or Ottawa, ON).

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, establish, and maintain the Corporate QC program and the Quality Control Component Testing database.
  • Develop and maintain QC operating procedures for the inspection and release of incoming materials and supplies.
  • Design, implement, and manage the National Proficiency Testing Program.
  • Assist the Quality Control Manager and the organization to monitor and improve product quality by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to site and functional staff in applying the Corporate Quality Control Program.
  • Leverage the Quality Event Management program for product or process deviations as needed.
  • Act as a QC resource for the organization and as a designate for the QCM in his/her absence.
Desired Education and Skills
  • Post‑secondary degree in a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment following Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • At least 5 years of Quality Management/Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (Minitab, JMP, Statgraphics, etc.) and advanced Excel.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management System elements.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Working Conditions
  • Hybrid environment: 40% on‑site (2 days per week), location Brampton, ON or Ottawa, ON.
  • Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours a week (7.5 hours per day).
  • Travel required for onsite visits, meetings, and training.
