The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections to ensure that construction activities meet technical specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. This role supports the effective implementation and continual improvement of the Quality Control program and plays a critical role in achieving consistent, high-quality project outcomes.
Location:
Chalk River, ON.
- Ensuring code and client specification requirements are implemented and completed on site.
- Reading and interpreting engineers’ drawings such as P&'s and isometric drawings.
- Reviewing documentation of 3rd‑party records, including NDE, MTR’s, etc.
- Creating and maintaining mechanical inspection records and reports, including logs, test packages, and turnover documentation.
- Conducting visual inspections of welds, dimensional verification, weld mapping, and red‑line drawings.
- Creating pressure test packages and witnessing testing.
- Maintaining material traceability, recording and verifying welds and heat numbers.
- Ensuring compliance with ITPs.
- Assisting in assembling turnover documentation.
- CWB Level II Certified Welding Inspector.
- Competent knowledge of NDE processes and ASME and CSA codes.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize work efficiently.
- Proficiency with computer programs, including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Related experience in industrial mechanical construction and quality control.
- Experience and knowledge in earthworks, geotechnical, formwork, concrete, super‑structural steel, architectural, and/or infrastructure is an asset.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with the project team.
