We are seeking a Researcher for a 2-year-regular position (renewable) to work within the Data Science & Innovation / Statistics Department at the International Vaccine Institute in Seoul, Korea. (Duty station: Seoul, Korea)
Job Description
This position is responsible for facilitating IVI’s scientific research projects by coordinating with the study team for data collection, data management and statistical analysis under the direction of Research Scientist or Associate Research Scientist. It also provides technical solutions for the development and maintenance of data collection and management system while collaborating with research scientist and biostatistical scientist for the documentation of statistical reports and relevant materials.
1. Development of data collection system
- Design, install, develop and validate the data systems for the IVI’s scientific research projects, while troubleshooting problems.
- Document a user manual for data system.
- Provide the training of data collection system to sites and serve as a technical resource in order to assist users with resolving issues.
2. Data management and reporting
- Determine data needed to be collected and appropriate data resources for specific projects on study sites.
- Formulate, implement and enforce proper data collection and query policies and procedures.
- Monitor the progression of data collection and data quality from study sites, while reporting overall progress of data collection and performance of sites monthly, quarterly and/or annually for the distribution to study team as well as each site.
- Integrate geographic data, while creating and editing geographic data, including GPS, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
3. Statistical analysis
- Generate the randomization information in collaboration with independent statistician of the study.
- Support to develop statistical analysis plan (SAP), while providing technical solutions to methodological design of the projects/studies.
- Develop the table, figure and listing (TFL) shell document and data definition table (DDT) specification according to SAP specification.
- Conduct statistical analysis while interpreting the analysis result and summarize the result as a report format.
- Prepare the study data set for the submission to national regulatory agency (NRA) or data sharing.
- Support to write manuscripts for publishing scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Train and oversee IVI associate researcher on development of data collection system and generation of statistical analysis results.
- Assist development and review of policies, SOPs and other controlled document.
- Master’s degree or equivalent with experience
- Ph.D. is preferred
- Master’s degree: 3+ years of experience in Statistics
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data management
- Knowledge of clinical trial and epidemiology
- Statistical programming or other related programming skills
- Oral and Written Communication

- Fluency in English
