Intent of the process
The immediate need is to staff one (1) indeterminate and one (1) term position with various linguistic profiles and an Enhanced Reliability Status with Secret security clearance.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
* Extensive
** recent experience with a variety of firearms such as: rifles, pistols, revolvers, shotguns, military & police automatic firearms, commercial sporting firearms.
*** Significant experience in conducting research and providing firearms related technical information.
Experience in managing employees, such as providing training or coaching, assigning work, scheduling, monitoring performance.
* Extensive experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience associated with having performed a broad range of various, complex related activities.
** Recent experience acquired within approximately the past 10 years.
*** Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience as well as the complexity of tasks that could be expected to have been obtained by carrying out the functions for 2 cumulative years within the last 5 years.

English Essential
Knowledge of firearms and ammunition (may include but not limited to: firearm operating principles, firearm design principles, firearm operating cycles, the meaning/significance of firearm markings/proofs marks, firearm terminology, firearm component names, and ammunition terminology.
Knowledge of Part III of the Criminal Code of Canada and associated Acts and Regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively orally
Ability in preparing technical documents associated to firearms and related devices.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing

Experience using the Firearms Reference Table (FRT).
Experience preparing court documentation.
Experience applying standard operating polices and quality assurance practices.
Knowledge of manual and power tools used commonly in the disassembly and repair of firearms.
Willing and able to work overtime.
Willing and able to travel.
Successful completion of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course.
