Identity Engineering owns the systems responsible for onboarding all consumers and managing their authentication and verification journeys across our product surfaces. In this role, you will need to gain a deep understanding of the business, product, and engineering context, and utilize that context to own and deliver high‑availability and low‑latency systems on the critical paths for all of our products.

• Collaborate with your tech lead and manager to break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and ensure timely delivery.
• Support peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics; articulate technical constraints and partner on decisions that consider risks and trade‑offs.
• Maintain operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting “keep the lights on” and on‑call efforts.
• Contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities, including participating in the interview process.

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems, and proficiency in either Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with the building blocks of distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to translate a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, and to execute on it by writing clear, well‑tested, and extensible code.
• Comfort navigating a large code base, debugging others’ code, and providing constructive code‑review feedback.
• Initiative in taking ownership of personal growth, proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to support effective collaboration with our global engineering team.
• Either a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Base pay range (CAN): $125,000 – $175,000 per year
