Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Access Control,

Location: Ottawa, Canada (Hybrid)

• Architect and build next‑generation features – Design and implement innovative capabilities for our cloud‑native access control platform using modern microservices architecture.
• Enable seamless hardware integration – Create robust integrations with physical security devices including smart locks, intercoms, biometric readers, and video management systems.
• Drive technical excellence – Establish best practices and mentor team members while delivering high‑quality, scalable code that powers security solutions worldwide.

• Develop cloud‑native microservices – Build and maintain scalable C# services that form the backbone of our access control platform, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Integrate physical security hardware – Create and optimize integrations using protocols such as MQTT
  .
• Collaborate across teams – Work closely with product managers, architects, and engineers to translate requirements into elegant technical solutions.
• Implement API and event‑driven architectures – Design RESTful APIs and event‑driven communication patterns for real‑time security operations.
• Ensure code quality and reliability – Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong C# and .NET expertise – 5+ years of professional software development experience with C# and modern .NET frameworks.
• Cloud and microservices proficiency – Proven experience building and deploying cloud‑native applications on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Systems integration experience – Ability to integrate with hardware systems, third‑party APIs, and IoT protocols.
• MQTT protocol expertise – Hands‑on experience implementing MQTT‑based communication.
• Technical breadth – Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, message queues, event‑driven architecture, Docker/Kubernetes, and SQL/No
  
  SQL databases.
• Problem‑solving mindset – Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex integration challenges.
