Material Handler (6 Month Contract - Rotating Shift)

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward‑thinking, and dedicated individual as a Material Handler for our Milling division based in Hanover, ON.

P&H is the largest Canadian‑owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chapati.

In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.

From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia;
Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge, Ontario;
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.

As a Material Handler, the successful candidate will be responsible for packaging finished product as well as performing various general labour duties within the Mill. Ability to work overtime on weekends and extended shifts is required.

Day

Shift: 7am - 3pm
Afternoon Shift: 3pm - 11pm

• Package product, including the operation of various packing lines and robot systems.
• Load containers with product as needed.
• Responsible for production documentation, labelling and for distributing product to designated locations within the warehouse.
• Maintain a clean work environment, including your own work area.
• Complete and follow all health, safety and food safety training policies as related to the job.

• Previous experience in a general labourer position.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to safely lift and stack 25 kg bags repetitively.
