Main duties of the job

Provide a dietetic service and give nutritional advice to adult and paediatric patients, with a range of conditions, in the primary care setting. This includes the assessment and treatment of patient sand working as an integral member of the MDT to provide a flexible, prioritised service based on clinical need.

Be an integral member of the team sharing the caseload for home enterally fed patients both in the clinic setting and conducting home visits for patients in their own homes/nursing homes.

Set up and lead specific patient caseload groupsto facilitate and educate in key aspects of clinical nutrition as required.

Design individual client-centred treatment plans. This will involve nutritional assessment and calculation of nutritional requirements based on the interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometry,clinical condition and diet history.

Negotiate on-going dietary adjustments with patients based upon the patients agenda, biochemistry, metabolic status,clinical condition and priorities.

Person Specification Experience
  • Previous NHS experience is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications
  • HCPC registered.
  • BSc (Hons) Nutrition / Dietetics degree or post graduate diploma or equivalent.
