AboutThe Role
We are seeking an experienced FedRAMP Documentation Specialist with a strong background in technical writing to join our team. This role will focus on creating and maintaining documentation for FedRAMP authorized cloud systems.
The ideal candidate will have in‑depth knowledge of federal security standards, including NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP, as well as a proven track record of successfully supporting FedRAMP projects.
This position requires a minimum of 10 years of technical writing experience, with at least 3 years of direct experience on FedRAMP‑related projects.
Role Responsibilities- Develop, write, and maintain FedRAMP‑compliant documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Policies and Procedures, Security Assessment Reports (SARs), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and other security‑related documentation.
- Collaborate with the security team, system administrators, and technical staff to ensure accurate documentation of system configurations, security controls, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in preparing documentation for FedRAMP audits and assessments.
- Ensure all documentation meets NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP requirements and is continuously updated to reflect system changes and configuration updates.
- Support Configuration Management processes by documenting changes to systems and ensuring security impact assessments are reflected in documentation.
- Conduct thorough reviews of existing documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with federal security standards.
- Provide input and guidance on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of system security documentation throughout the system’s lifecycle.
- Minimum of 10 years of technical writing experience, with at least 3 years of direct experience on FedRAMP‑related projects
- Proven ability to create and manage FedRAMP‑related documentation (SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, etc.).
- Ability to clearly and accurately document security controls, system configurations, and related procedures in alignment with federal guidelines.
- In‑depth knowledge of federal security standards, including:
- NIST SP 800‑53 (Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems)
- NIST SP 800‑37 (Risk Management Framework)
- FedRAMP Authorization Process
- FISMA Compliance Requirements
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and the FedRAMP security authorization process.
- Experience working with Security Control Assessors (SCAs), Information System Security Officers (ISSOs), and compliance teams during FedRAMP assessments.
