Quality Inspector - Precision Engineering
Why This Role MattersAs a Quality Inspector, you'll be at the heart of our production process, ensuring that everything leaving the business meets the exacting standards demanded by our customers and regulatory frameworks. You'll work with precision measurement technologies and contribute to quality systems that support critical engineering applications. This is a hands‑on role, ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a passion for problem‑solving, and the ability to adapt to evolving technical challenges.
WhatYou'll Be Doing
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections on incoming, in‑process, and finished parts to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Use a range of measuring systems, including:
- Bridge CMM with PC‑DMIS
- Portable CMM (e.g. Romer/Faro arms) with Poly Works
- Conventional precision tools (micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Develop inspection competence and ultimately sign‑off products at key manufacturing stages.
- Maintain and support inspection jigs and calibration records.
- Identify and log non‑conforming product, support root‑cause analysis and liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and (when needed) customers.
- Help improve inspection workflows and quality processes across the business.
- Is enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive, thriving in a fast‑paced, evolving production environment.
- Communicates clearly, builds positive working relationships, and enjoys teamwork.
- Has a methodical mindset with excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
- Is ready to grow their technical skills, especially in engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T.
- Experience with CMM programming, PC‑DMIS, Poly Works, or similar software would be a strong advantage.
- Awareness of CAD/CAM systems, 3D scanning, and NDT inspection methods (e.g. penetrant inspection) is desirable.
- Hands‑on experience with state‑of‑the‑art inspection tools used in cutting‑edge manufacturing.
- Opportunity to grow into a key quality role within an engineering business known for innovation across composites, metallic technologies and advanced fabrication.
- A professional, supportive culture that values ownership, integrity, and continuous improvement.
If you're looking for a role where quality isn't just a checklist, but a real driver of engineering excellence, this could be the next step in your career.
