Retail Production Supervisor
Location: Brixham
Reports to: Retail Manager
We’re looking for a dedicated, hands‑on, detail‑focused Retail Production Supervisor to lead daily packing and fulfilment operations for the Rockfish Online Seafood Market (OSM). This role ensures every order is packed to the highest standard, dispatched on time, and delivered with the exceptional quality our customers expect. The role is located opposite Brixham Fish market where our fish is bought every morning. This is an early start!
The shifts are 5.30am until 2.30pm, including 30‑minute break. The working week runs from Monday to Friday and 42.5 hours per week with some occasional weekend work with overtime available for busy periods and weekends.
- Lead and organise the daily workflow in the packing room.
- Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and adjust to meet order volumes.
- Oversee accurate and timely order fulfilment to courier deadlines.
- Maintain exceptional product presentation aligned with Rockfish brand standards.
- Manage daily stock movement, correct storage, labelling, and FIFO rotation.
- Conduct product checks and ensure everything meets Rockfish quality expectations.
- Work with the Retail Manager to report non‑conformances or quality issues.
- Operate production equipment confidently and adapt to new systems quickly.
- Keep digital records accurate and up to date.
- Ensure the packing room is clean, organised, safe, and compliant with EHO/SALSA standards.
- Work with Customer Service to resolve order queries or packing amendments.
- Liaise with Logistics to support smooth courier handovers.
- Provide timely updates on stock, orders, and operational challenges.
- Maintain strict food safety, traceability, allergen control and HACCP procedures.
- Carry out daily checks and ensure safe working practices throughout cold-chain areas.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Calm, organised and effective under pressure – especially during peak periods.
- Confident leading a small, hands‑on team.
- Can do attitude.
- Experience in seafood, chilled packing or food production (advantageous).
- Clear communicator with cross‑functional teamwork skills.
