Managing Solicitor – Renfrewshire Council

Renfrewshire Council, proud recipient of Council of the Year, is seeking a dynamic, engaging and dedicated professional to lead our Projects Team.

We have successfully delivered a range of award‑winning major construction projects and are now focusing on an ambitious programme to renew our learning estate. In this role you will provide specialist construction advice and support for both planned and ongoing construction procurement activity across the Council. You will also manage a high‑performing, motivated team within a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Essential Requirements
  • Current Practising Certificate, LLB and Diploma in Legal Practice.
  • Extensive construction experience, able to undertake a wide range of tasks across a broad construction‑focused remit.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate colleagues and drive innovation in service delivery.
  • Proficiency in handling complex legal matters, including well‑developed contract‑drafting capabilities.
  • Sound understanding of EU procurement rules and their application to local authority projects, construction contracts and framework agreements.
  • Demonstrable experience contributing to major projects in the public or private sector, with evidence of adding value to successful project delivery.
