Shift Manager - Wash and Pack Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Manager to oversee our Wash and Pack department. The Shift Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Wash and Pack section, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for driving continuous improvement within the team.
Shift& Pay Overview
- £14.45
- 5 Days out of 7 (Rotational Pattern)
- Shift Pattern - 7am - 3:30pm and 1:30pm - 10pm (Full Flexibility Required)
- Manage all aspects of the Wash and Pack section, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet production targets.
- Oversee the washing, sanitizing, and packing processes to ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Lead and motivate a team of wash and pack operators, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement teams to ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and drive implementation of best practices within the department.
- Looking after a team of 6 - 27 (seasonal fluctuation).
- A foundation degree, HND or degree in a relevant subject, logistics, supply chain management, warehouse management, business management.
- Previous experience at a supervisory grade in a similar environment.
- Previous experience managing teams.
- Previous experience of working within a controlled Bonded stores environment.
- Must demonstrate integrity, confidentiality and professionalism always.
- Strong leadership skills but ability to work with a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop long term relationships and facilitate diverse groups of people to work together to achieve shared objectives.
- Flexible and able to manage multiple demands in a highly pressurised environment, prioritising as appropriate.
- Ability to take ownership and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Proactive and positive/flexible attitude.
